Garretson PRIDE – Connie Johnson

At our last school board meeting, our board had the pleasure of recognizing Connie Johnson with a PRIDE award.  IMG_5894

Connie was nominated for the award by our elementary counselor, Janie Lundberg, who has had the opportunity to work with Connie throughout the years.  Ms. Lundberg’s nomination outlines the impact that Connie has on our kids and our community better than I ever could.  Here are some excerpts from the nomination.

“This nomination is in recognition of Connie’s outstanding leadership and tireless efforts to help meet the needs of our community… Connie, along with her husband, Terry, purchased the Treasure Chest with a mission in mind.  Their mission was to selflessly use this business as a way to bring blessings to others.”

“Connie has a warm and cheerful attitude towards all people, young and old alike.  I have seen her handle difficult situations with remarkable patience and admirable tact.  She loves people!  She continually works hard at lifting the spirits of those around her.  When our students have a need, she is always there to help.  She has given her time to our Backpack Food Program and the Angel Tree program in our school.  In addition, she free-heartedly helps meet many warm clothing / blanket needs for our children.  Connie never asks for, nor receives, anything in return… Connie continually maintains confidentiality, respect and empathy as she works with people from all walks of life.  Because of her, many lives have been changed.” – Ms. Janie Lundberg

Congratulations on your award, Connie, and THANK YOU for the contribution you make to our school and our community!
